Three types of inquiries can be performed in Metro Court:

The Background Check Inquiry provides defendant, case and docket
information. There are four ways to search for defendant and case information:
The following viewing options apply to all except Browse Court Docket. These options
are displayed at the bottom of the screen:
Options: 1 - Display All | 3 - Defendant | 5 - Charges | 7 - Hearings

1. Case Inquiry by Defendant Name
| Type the name of the
person you want in Last_name First_name order and press [Enter].
The name that most closely matches the name you typed is displayed as the first name on the
screen. Press [PgUp] or [PgDn] to view more screens.

Press [Tab] to move the cursor to the vertical column on the left. Press
[Tab], [Dn] or [Space] to move the cursor down the column. Press [Up] to move the
cursor up the column. Type 1, 3, 5 or 7 beside each record you want according to the
information you want to view. Press [Enter] when you finish making your selections. The
first screen of information appears according to the display option (1, 3, 5 or 7) you selected.

2. Case Inquiry by Case Number
| Type the
Case_number and press [Tab]. Do not type the slash. Do not press [Enter] until you
have made all of your selections. |

In the Option: field, type 1, 3, 5 or 7 according to the information you want to view.
The cursor moves to the Defendant Seq: field. Accept the default (1) and press [Enter],
or press 2, 3, etc., (for other defendants) then [Enter].
NOTE: The leading must be typed or [Space] must be pressed followed by a 2, 3, etc. if you
want to change the default.
3. Case Inquiry by Arrest Number
| Type the Arrest
Number, beginning with the 2-digit prefix and press [Enter]. If the message: Arrest
Number Not Found appears, press [Ctrl]-R to reset the keyboard and retype the Arrest
Number. |

A list of all cases regarding the defendant will appear and the cursor will be in the vertical
column on the left of the first entry on the list. Press [Tab], [Dn] or [Space] to move down
the column. Press [Up] to move up the column. Type 1, 3, 5 or 7 to select the type of
information you want for one or more cases. When you have made your selections, press
[Enter].

3 - Defendant
| This screen provides
biographical information such as name, address, date of birth, SSN, physical attributes, phone
number, etc. It also displays aliases, the arrest number, location, arresting officer, probation
officer, arresting agency, bond activity and attorney of record. |
