NetTerm
NetTerm is a full-featured Telnet client used to access Technet's Premium Services. It is important that

You need:
NetTerm Installation Diskette. Make sure you're using version 4.22.
NOTE: Version 4.22 will ask you which language you want to use during the install. If this does not happen, please call New Mexico Customer Support at (505)343-7630 so we can can send the proper version. Without the proper version, Netscape 4.0 will not communicate properly with NetTerm and you will not be able to access any Premium Services.
Insert the diskette labeled NetTerm Installation Diskette - Windows 95 into drive A or B. Click
Start, select Run. Type A:\ Nt32422 if you are using drive A. Type B:\Nt32422 if you are using
drive B. Click
to run. From there, the Install program does the rest. Just click
and
follow the prompts, accepting the defaults.
When installation is complete, click on Start, Find, Files or Folders, and type in netterm.ini. This will find all the copies of the netterm.ini file (most likely in the netterm directory itself and in the WINNT directory). Copy the netterm.ini file from the diskette to both locations, answering Yes when asked if you want to replace the version or versions on the hard drive. The netterm.ini file sets proper keyboard mapping for any telnet sessions launched from Technet's menu that access Premium Services. Remove the NetTerm Installation Diskette.
Please go to Configuring NetTerm with Netscape Navigator 4.0 and Internet Explorer 3.0 to finish installing NetTerm. Without doing this step, your browser will not run NetTerm when it should.
Netscape version 4.0 is the official NT version. Please use it with Windows NT.
WARNING: Due to the way these browsers implements its handling of Telnet connections, you are changing the system-wide default Telnet client.
Open NetTerm. Click the Options menu, pick the Setup submenu, and pick the Set Registry Telnet Handler option.
Now either browser should use NetTerm as its default Telnet Client.
NetTerm has a button on its toolbar that looks like this:
This button does NOT work! This Printer button should perform a Printscreen. Unfortunately, it does not. Also, do not press the Printscreen key on your keyboard if you would like to perform a Printscreen, because this does not send anything to your printer in Windows 3.1 or Windows 95. Instead, click on the File menu and select Print Screen. This will print what is currently displayed in NetTerm.
Additionally, due to the way NetTerm interacts with some applications, using Session Logging may not capture all of the information.
Instead, use the Screen shot button which looks like this:
.
NOTE: You must be connected before you can use the Screen shot button.
This will save into a file an accurate representation of what is currently being shown on the screen. If you wish to save multiple screen shots to one file, click the button again and make sure the file name is the same as the original name and select the Append check box. This will add the new screen shot to the bottom of the old screen shot. Once the appropriate screens are saved, the text file can be printed from any word processor.
Printing Tip: Many users find the default font used for printing in NetTerm too small. To change this, click on the
Setup Menu, select the Options submenu, and click on the Global Settings button. Click on the
Printing Tab and click on the Select Font button. Fonts vary depending on systems, but you should
have either Courier or Courier New. If you have Courier New, a size of 11 point usually works well for
most situations; otherwise, if you only have Courier, pick 10 point. Once you've selected the font and
point size, click
. The next time you print, the print should be much easier to read.
